A Long Walk
Within the night, I will wander alone. Out of fear; each step trembles. Each foot-fall breaks the silence. Only light can echo.
For life is the adventure of experience, but the light for this path is only found within myself. Do I have the courage to keep walking without my own light? Am I already walking with the guidance of my own light? To be blinded by one’s own light, or simply ignorant of its existence.
May trust be found in each fearful walk; for this path is unknown and the friends you find go. May I believe in myself once more to explore as a child, fear as a child, pain as a child; lacking the full understanding of the journey ahead.
Not to turn away from every teaching. Not to cease from every fall; but to pick myself up and continue forward even if that could be walking back. For life is this adventure we all walk. We all experience.
The beauty of this journey is not the destination, but to walk itself. It offers what the destination does not. For one to seek is to ignore the experience and teachings. May I remain open as this is my prayer.
